How many breweries can say that every week, you can come in, trade your ID for a pint glass, and drink unlimited amounts of craft beers for two full hours? Well, we know of only one on the island, so that means we don’t have to go far to get it, Newporters.
For those of you who are looking for a fun—and free—way to start the weekend, Newport Storm Friday @ Six is the thing to do. You can think of it as homage to the old days when the first 50 people who came to the brewery at six were able to have a tour. Now, using Facebook to keep this awesome tradition alive, the geniuses at Newport Storm can provide excellent brews that you wouldn’t be able to find all in one place.
How does it work, you ask? Step 1: Go onto the Newport Storm Facebook page right at noon on Friday, click on the Friday @ Six Sign Up link, and answer questions to get on the list. Step 2: Show up at 6:00 sharp at the brewery. Step 3: Enjoy the sweet nectar of the beer gods and make a few friends while you’re at it. Why not? It only comes around once a week.
